West Coast Eagles premiership player Adam Hunter has tragically passed away at the age of 43.Hunter, a key part of the Eagles' 2006 flag-winning team, was found unresponsive just after midnight in Bunbury, south of Perth.

 WA Police have confirmed his death is not being treated as suspicious."At approximately 12:20 a.m. on February 5, 2025, police and St John Ambulance responded to a call regarding a non-responsive male at a residence in Withers," a police statement read.

"Paramedics attempted first aid upon arrival, but unfortunately, the man could not be revived. The 43-year-old was declared deceased at the scene. The death is not considered suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner."

Hunter was a beloved figure at the Eagles, playing 151 games over eight seasons. His 2006 campaign was particularly memorable, kicking 29 goals, including the final goal of the grand final against Sydney. He finished third in the club’s best and fairest in 2007.

His passing comes on a heartbreaking day for the AFL community, following the deaths of Troy Selwood and respected coach Dale Tapping. Hunter had shared premiership glory with Selwood’s twin brother, Adam, making the loss even more poignant for those close to the game.

Hunter’s contributions to West Coast’s history, and his impact both on and off the field, will not be forgotten.
