After a Decade, WWE Champion Hopes for AJ Lee’s Return to the Ring

It’s been almost a decade since AJ Lee stepped away from professional wrestling, but her impact on WWE is still felt today. Now, a reigning champion has expressed her hope that the former Divas Champion will one day make a comeback to the ring.Despite her success, she retired from in-ring competition in April 2015 and has largely stayed out of the wrestling world, even after her husband, CM Punk, returned to WWE in 2023.

However, current Women's United States Champion Chelsea Green is one of many who would love to see AJ Lee back in action. In a recent interview with Metro, Green spoke about how exciting it would be to share the ring with Lee.

"I mean, come on AJ Lee coming back? That would be insane! She was such a trailblazer in the Divas division, and I think she would absolutely thrive in today's women's division. If I ever got the chance to step in the ring with her, I would be all over that opportunity!" Green said.

While AJ Lee has not hinted at a return to the ring, fans have continued to speculate, especially with CM Punk back in WWE. Whether or not the "Black Widow" will make a comeback remains to be seen, but one thing is certain both fans and wrestlers like Chelsea Green would welcome her with open arms.
