The match began with both teams creating some chances, but Tigers' goalkeeper Grace O’Hanlon was quick to stop the Warriors' early attempts. The Tigers, led by Hannah Cotter, also launched several attacks but were denied by the Warriors' defense.
As the first quarter ended, the Tigers were awarded a penalty corner, which led to a stroke but was overturned after the Warriors successfully used their referral. In the second quarter, the Warriors stepped up their intensity. Yibbi Jansen and Michelle Fillet worked together beautifully for the first goal. Yibbi passed from the half-line to Michelle, who took a powerful shot at the top of the circle to score. Shortly after, Yibbi converted the Warriors' first penalty corner, doubling their lead.
Despite some missed opportunities from players like Rutuja Pisal and Neha Goyal, the Warriors kept up the pressure. Grace O'Hanlon’s vigilance in goal kept the Tigers in the game for a while. Just before half-time, the Tigers pulled one back with a well-executed penalty corner by Udita, who deceived goalkeeper Jocelyn Bartram with a low ground shot.
In the second half, the Tigers worked hard to level the game, with Lalremsiami adding more attacking strength. However, the Warriors continued to press, earning two more penalty corners. Yibbi Jansen again showed her skill, converting a low drag-flick for her second goal. Neha Goyal then sealed the win for the Warriors with a final strike in the last quarter, making the score 4-1.
The win puts Odisha Warriors in a strong position at the top of the table, with Jansen’s standout performance being a key factor in the victory.
