Carse joined Durham in 2016 and made his first-class debut in the County Championship. He impressed with 17 wickets in his first season, earning a two-year contract. However, injuries sidelined him in 2018, but Durham rewarded him with a three-year deal later that year.

In 2019, he made his List A debut in the Royal London One-Day Cup. His performances earned him a spot in the Northern Superchargers for The Hundred in 2022. Unfortunately, in 2024, Carse received a 16-month ban (13 months suspended) for betting on cricket matches between 2017 and 2019 while recovering from injuries.

International Career

Carse qualified to play for England through his British ancestry and completed his residency in 2019. He made his ODI debut in July 2021 against Pakistan and took a five-wicket haul in the third match of the series. He continued to impress in ODIs and T20Is, making his T20 debut in 2023 against New Zealand, where he won Player of the Match for taking 3/23.In October 2024, Carse made his Test debut against Pakistan in Multan, taking his first Test wicket and finishing with four wickets in the match.
